DEVELOPMENT OF SOCIAL INTELLIGENCE SCALE FOR HIGH VOCATIONAL CERTIFICATE STUDENTS IN RAYONG PROVINCE

Abstract

The objectives of the research were to: (i) develop a social intelligence scale for High Vocational Certificate students, (ii) examine the psychometric properties of the developed social intelligence scale, and (iii) develop a user manual and establish provincial normative criteria for the social intelligence scale among High Vocational Certificate students. The sample selected by stratified random sampling consisted of 850 High Vocational Certificate students under the Office of Vocational Education, Rayong Province, in the academic year 2022. The social intelligence scale was developed based on Goleman’s (2006) framework and employed a 5 - point Likert - type rating scale. The scale comprised two main components and eight sub-components. The psychometric properties of the scale were evaluated using several methods: content validity was assessed by the Content Validity Index (CVI), item discrimination was analyzed using the Graded Response Model (GRM), internal consistency was examined using Cronbach’s alpha coefficient, and construct validity was tested through third - order Confirmatory Factor Analysis.

The results indicated that the final version of the scale consisted of 32 items. The CVI was 1.00, item discrimination values ranged from .65 to 1.61, and the overall Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was .908. Additionally, the result of the third - order CFA demonstrated that the measurement model had a good fit with the empirical data (χ²/df = 1.381; CFI = .910; TLI = .902; RMSEA = .040; SRMR = .042). The normative criteria for interpreting scores were categorized into four levels: T - scores ≥ 69 indicated ‘very high social intelligence’, T - scores between 50 - 68 indicated ‘high social intelligence’, T - scores between 31 - 49 indicated ‘moderate social intelligence’, and T - scores < 31 indicated ‘low social intelligence’.

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ 1) เพื่อสร้างแบบวัดความฉลาดทางสังคมสำหรับนักศึกษาอาชีวศึกษาในระดับประกาศนียบัตรวิชาชีพชั้นสูง 2) เพื่อตรวจสอบคุณภาพของแบบวัดความฉลาดทางสังคมสำหรับนักศึกษาอาชีวศึกษาในระดับประกาศนียบัตรวิชาชีพชั้นสูง และ3) เพื่อพัฒนาคู่มือและสร้างเกณฑ์ปกติวิสัยระดับจังหวัดของแบบวัดความฉลาดทางสังคมสำหรับนักศึกษาอาชีวศึกษาในระดับประกาศนียบัตรวิชาชีพชั้นสูงในจังหวัดระยอง ตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการศึกษา ได้แก่ นักศึกษาอาชีวศึกษาในระดับประกาศนียบัตรวิชาชีพชั้นสูง สังกัดสำนักงานอาชีวศึกษาจังหวัดระยอง ปีการศึกษา 2565 จำนวน 850 คน ซึ่งได้มาจากการสุ่มแบบแบ่งชั้น แบบวัดความฉลาดทางสังคมที่สร้างขึ้นนี้ใช้แนวคิดของ Goleman (2006) ซึ่งเป็นแบบมาตรประมาณค่า 5 ระดับ ประกอบด้วย 2 องค์ประกอบหลัก และ 8 องค์ประกอบย่อย การตรวจสอบคุณภาพแบบวัดใช้การวิเคราะห์ความตรงเชิงเนื้อหาด้วยวิธีดัชนีความตรงเชิงเนื้อหา (CVI) การตรวจสอบอำนาจจำแนกด้วยวิธี Graded Response Model การวิเคราะห์ความเที่ยงด้วยค่าสัมประสิทธิ์แอลฟาของ ครอนบาค และการตรวจสอบความตรงเชิงโครงสร้างด้วยการวิเคราะห์องค์ประกอบเชิงยืนยันอันดับที่สาม

ผลการวิจัย พบว่า แบบวัดความฉลาดทางสังคมที่ผ่านเกณฑ์มีจำนวน 32 ข้อ สำหรับการตรวจสอบคุณภาพของแบบวัดความฉลาดทางสังคม พบว่า ความตรงเชิงเนื้อหา (CVI) มีค่าเท่ากับ 1.00 ค่าอำนาจจำแนกของแบบวัดมีค่าอยู่ระหว่าง .65 ถึง 1.61 ค่าค่าสัมประสิทธิ์แอลฟาของครอนบาคของทั้งฉบับมีค่า .908 และผลการวิเคราะห์องค์ประกอบเชิงยืนยันอันดับที่สาม พบว่า โมเดลการวัดมีความสอดคล้องกลมกลืนกับข้อมูลเชิงประจักษ์เป็นอย่างดี (χ²/df = 1.381; CFI = .910; TLI = .902; RMSEA = .040; SRMR = .042) สำหรับเกณฑ์ปกติที่ใช้ในการแปลความหมายแบ่งเป็น 4 กลุ่ม ได้แก่ คะแนนทีปกติตั้งแต่ 69 ขึ้นไป แปลว่ามีความฉลาดทางสังคมสูงที่สุด คะแนนทีปกติ 50 - 68 แปลว่ามีความฉลาดทางสังคมสูง คะแนนทีปกติ 31 - 49 แปลว่ามีความฉลาดทางสังคมปานกลาง และคะแนนทีปกติต่ำกว่า 31 แปลว่ามีความฉลาดทางสังคมต่ำ
