PREDICTING FACTORS OF ACTIVE AGING PREPARATION AMONG WORKERS IN INDUSTRIAL ESTATE CHON-BURI PROVINCE

Abstract

Preparing the working-age population for quality aging can significantly reduce long-term dependency in communities. This predictive correlational study aimed to investigate the readiness for quality aging and its predictors, including personal, economic, social, and environmental factors. The sample consisted of 151 working-age individuals aged 40-59 years from industrial areas in Chonburi Province, selected through Cluster random sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire comprising six sections: 1) personal information, 2) work conditions, 3) attitudes toward aging, 4) health threats, 5) workplace policies, and 6) readiness for quality aging. The questionnaire demonstrated content validity indices of .88, .86, .97, and .82, with reliability coefficients of .88, .75, .88, and .93, respectively. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The findings revealed that the overall readiness for quality aging among the workers was high (M = 3.88, SD = 1.10). Economic preparedness was the most prominent, followed by social, physical health, and mental health aspects. The significant predictors of readiness for quality aging were workplace policies (β = -0.197) and job position (β = 0.195), collectively accounting for 8.0% of the variance in readiness (R² = 0.080, F = 6.452, p < 0.01). Therefore, community health nurses or occupational health nurses can apply these findings by promoting exemplary readiness behaviors among supervisory staff and organizing activities that support physical and mental health preparedness for aging in the workforce.

การเตรียมความพร้อมให้วัยทำงาน เป็นผู้สูงอายุที่มีคุณภาพ จะช่วยลดภาระพึ่งพิงในระยะยาวในชุมชนได้ การวิจัยหาความสัมพันธ์เชิงทำนายนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อศึกษาการเตรียมความพร้อมเข้าสู่วัยสูงอายุที่มีคุณภาพและปัจจัยทำนาย ได้แก่ ปัจจัยส่วนบุคคล ปัจจัยด้านเศรษฐกิจและสังคม ปัจจัยด้านสิ่งแวดล้อม กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือวัยแรงงานที่มีอายุระหว่าง 40-59 ปี ในพื้นที่อุตสาหกรรม จังหวัดชลบุรี จำนวน 151 คน คัดเลือกกลุ่มตัวอย่างด้วยการคัดเลือกตัวอย่างแบบแบ่งกลุ่ม เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยเป็นแบบสอบถาม ประกอบด้วย 6 ส่วน ได้แก่ 1) ข้อมูลส่วนบุคคล 2) ข้อมูลสภาพงาน 3) ทัศนคติต่อการเป็นผู้สูงอายุ 4) สิ่งคุกคามทางสุขภาพ 5) นโยบายของสถานประกอบการ และ 6) การเตรียมความพร้อมเข้าสู่วัยสูงอายุที่มีคุณภาพ โดยแบบสอบถามมีความตรงของเนื้อหาเท่ากับ .88, .86, .97, และ .82 ค่าความเชื่อมั่นเท่ากับ .88, .75, .88 และ .93 ตามลำดับ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยสถิติพรรณนา และสถิติการวิเคราะห์ถดถอยพหุคูณแบบขั้นตอน ผลการวิจัยพบว่ากลุ่มตัวอย่าง การเตรียมความพร้อมเข้าสู่วัยสูงอายุที่มีคุณภาพของแรงงาน โดยรวมอยู่ในระดับมาก (M = 3.88, SD = 1.10 ) กลุ่มตัวอย่างมีการเตรียมความพร้อมด้านเศรษฐกิจมากที่สุด รองลงมาคือ ด้านสังคม ด้านสุขภาพกาย และสุขภาพจิต ตามลำดับ ปัจจัยทำนายการเตรียมความพร้อมฯ คือ 1) นโยบายของสถานประกอบการ (β = - 0.197) และ 2) ตำแหน่งงาน (β = 0.195) ร่วมกันทำนายการเตรียมความพร้อมฯ อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ 0.01 ได้ร้อยละ 8.0 (R2 = 0.080, F = 6.452, p < 0.01) ดังนั้น พยาบาลชุมชน หรือพยาบาลประจำสถานประกอบการ สามารถนำผลการศึกษานี้ไปใช้ โดยส่งเสริมให้พนักงานในตำแหน่งหัวหน้างาน ปฏิบัติตนเป็นแบบอย่างที่ดีในการเตรียมความพร้อมเข้าสู่วัยสูงอายุของแรงงาน และจัดกิจกรรมสนับสนุนการเตรียมความพร้อมด้านสุขภาพกาย และสุขภาพจิต
