THE ENHANCEMENT OF JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS’ CAREER CHOICE ABILITY THROUGH REALITY COUNSELING THEORY

Abstract

The purpose of this quasi-experimental research was 1) study the effects of the reality theory counseling on the enhancement career choice ability. 2) To compare the career choice scores of junior high school students between the experimental group and the control group. The instruments were 1) Measuring career choice ability, a total of 28 items, the confidence value was 0.95; 2) Online-counseling with Reality theory program for enhancing junior high school students’ career choice ability. The population in this research were thai students, who have been studying junior high school in district of the secondary education area 18 who are willing to participate in the research project. The sample used in this research was 20 students who have lowest scores of career choice ability, using a random number table through a computer system, into the experimental group and control group, 10 students per group. The experimental group received 10 sessions of counseling while the controlled group did not. The data collection was divided into the pre-test, post-test, and follow up phases, and analyzed by using repeated measures analysis of variance: one between-subjects variable and one within-subjects variable. The research results showed that the career choice ability of junior high school students through online counseling with reality theory during post-test and follow up phases are higher than the pre-test period at .05 significance level and the experimental group had higher scores on career choice ability than the control group was statistically significant at the .05 level

การวิจัยครั้งนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์ 1) เพื่อเปรียบเทียบความสามารถในการเลือกอาชีพของนักเรียนมัธยมศึกษาตอนต้นที่ได้รับการปรึกษาออนไลน์ทฤษฎีเผชิญความจริงในระยะก่อนทดลอง ระยะหลังการทดลอง และระยะติดตามผล 2) เพื่อเปรียบเทียบความสามารถในการเลือกอาชีพของนักเรียนมัธยมศึกษาตอนต้นที่ได้รับการปรึกษาออนไลน์ทฤษฎีเผชิญความจริงกับนักเรียนมัธยมศึกษาตอนต้นที่ไม่ได้รับการปรึกษาออนไลน์ทฤษฎีเผชิญความจริงในระยะก่อนการทดลอง ระยะหลังการทดลอง และระยะติดตามผล เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยประกอบด้วย 1) แบบวัดความสามารถในการเลือกอาชีพ จำนวน 28 ข้อ ค่าความเชื่อมั่นเท่ากับ 0.95 2) โปรแกรมการปรึกษาออนไลน์ทฤษฎีเผชิญความจริงเพื่อเสริมสร้างความสามารถในการเลือกอาชีพ ประชากรในการวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นนักเรียนที่กำลังศึกษาในระดับชั้นมัธยมศึกษาตอนต้น ในเขตโรงเรียนพื้นที่การศึกษามัธยมศึกษา เขต 18 ที่มีความสมัครใจที่จะเข้าร่วมโครงการวิจัย และมีคะแนนความสามารถในการเลือกอาชีพต่ำสุด 20 คน ผู้วิจัยใช้ตารางเลขสุ่มผ่านระบบคอมพิวเตอร์ในการแบ่งกลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็น 2 กลุ่ม ได้แก่ กลุ่มทดลองและกลุ่มควบคุม กลุ่มละ 10 คน กลุ่มทดลองเป็นกลุ่มที่ได้รับการปรึกษาออนไลน์ทฤษฎีเผชิญความจริง จำนวน 10 ครั้ง ครั้งละ 60 นาที และกลุ่มควบคุมจะไม่ได้รับการปรึกษาออนไลน์ทฤษฎีเผชิญความจริง สถิตที่ใช้ในการวิจัย วิเคราะห์ความแปรปรวนแบบวัดประเภทหนึ่งตัวแปรระหว่างกลุ่มและหนึ่งตัวแปรภายในกลุ่ม ผลการวิจัยพบว่า คะแนนความสามารถในการเลือกอาชีพของนักเรียนที่ได้รับการปรึกษาออนไลน์ด้วยทฤษฎีเผชิญความจริง ระยะทดลองและระยะติดตามผลสูงกว่าก่อนการทดลองอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 และนักเรียนที่ได้รับการปรึกษาออนไลน์ด้วยทฤษฎีเผชิญความจริง มีคะแนนความสามารถในการเลือกอาชีพสูงกว่านักเรียนที่ไม่ได้รับการปรึกษาออนไลน์ด้วยทฤษฎีเผชิญความจริงอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05
