FACTORS AFFECTING QUALITY OF WORK LIFE OF THE AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLERS OF ROYAL THAI NAVY

Abstract

The objective of this research were: 1) study the level of quality of work life of air traffic controllers of the Royal Thai Navy at U-tapao International Airport, and; 2) study factors affecting quality of work life of air traffic controllers of the Royal Thai Navy at U-tapao International Airport. The population of 100 air traffic controllers of the Royal Thai Navy at U-tapao International Airport were selected. The statistical analysis used in this study were both descriptive statistics, such as frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, and inferential statistics, such as multiple linear regression with dummy variables. The results of this research found that: 1) the level of quality of work life of air traffic controllers of the Royal Thai Navy at U-tapao International Airport were at a moderate level. When considering each dimension of quality of work life it was found that the air traffic controllers had high level of quality of work life in the principle of democracy with the first rank. The second rank was quality of work life in the principle of individuation at a moderate level. The third one was quality of work life in the principle of security at a moderate level. The last was quality of work life in the principle of equality with a low level; and 2) income per month and job satisfaction affected quality of work life of the air traffic controllers of the Royal Thai Navy with the level of statistical significance set at .01.

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) เพื่อศึกษาระดับคุณภาพชีวิตการทำงานของเจ้าหน้าที่ควบคุมจราจรทางอากาศของกองทัพเรือท่าอากาศยานนานาชาติอู่ตะเภา 2) เพื่อศึกษาปัจจัยที่มีผลต่อคุณภาพชีวิตการทำงานของเจ้าหน้าที่ควบคุมจราจรทางอากาศของกองทัพเรือ ท่าอากาศยานนานาชาติอู่ตะเภา ประชากรที่ใช้ในการวิจัยครั้งนี้ คือ เจ้าหน้าที่ควบคุมจราจร ทางอากาศของกองทัพเรือ ท่าอากาศยานนานาชาติอู่ตะเภา จำนวน 100 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยเป็นแบบสอบถาม สถิติที่ใช้ประกอบด้วย สถิติเชิงพรรณนา (Descriptive statistic) คือ ความถี่ (Frequency) ร้อยละ (Percentage) ค่าเฉลี่ย (Mean) และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน (Standard deviation) ตลอดจน สถิติเชิงอนุมาน คือ การวิเคราะห์ถดถอยเชิงพหุ (Multiple linear regression with dummy variables) ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) ระดับคุณภาพชีวิตการทำงานของเจ้าหน้าที่ควบคุมจราจร ทางอากาศของกองทัพเรือ ท่าอากาศยานนานาชาติอู่ตะเภา มีคุณภาพชีวิตการทำงานปานกลาง เมื่อพิจารณาเป็นรายด้านของคุณภาพชีวิตการทำงาน พบว่าเจ้าหน้าที่ควบคุมจราจรทางอากาศมีคุณภาพชีวิตการทำงาน ด้านความเป็นประชาธิปไตยในการทำงาน เป็นอันดับหนึ่ง มีคุณภาพชีวิตการทำงานมาก รองลงมาคือ ด้านความเป็นปัจเจกบุคคล และด้านความมั่นคงและความปลอดภัย ในการทำงาน มีคุณภาพชีวิตการทำงานปานกลาง และลำดับสุดท้ายคือ ด้านความเป็นธรรมหรือ ความเสมอภาค มีคุณภาพชีวิตการทำงานน้อย และ 2) รายได้ต่อเดือน และความพึงพอใจ ในการทำงาน มีผลต่อคุณภาพชีวิตการทำงานของเจ้าหน้าที่ควบคุมจราจรทางอากาศของกองทัพเรือ อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ .01
