dc.description.abstractBackground: Resistance training program design was crucial for eliciting optimal adaptations from resistance training. This study aimed to investigate and compare morphological and physiological adaptations from two high intensity resistance training programs. Methods: Twenty untrained male participants were recruited and assigned to traditional high intensity resistance training program (TRAD) or high intensity combined with low intensity resistance training with blood flow restriction program (LLpBFR). Both programs were periodized to equate volume sets. Muscle cross-sectional area (MCSA) and muscle thickness (MT) of biceps brachii (BB) and vastus lateralis (VL), muscle architectures of VL, maximum strength metrics, ankle-brachial index (ABI), and perception of effort (OMNI-RES) were measured at Pre- and Post-intervention.
