THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF THE ELDERLY IN BAN SUAN MUNICIPALITY, CHONBURI PROVINCE

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the quality of life of the elderly in Ban Suan Municipality, Chonburi Province and compare the quality of life among the elderly in Ban Suan Municipality, Chonburi Province. Data on the elderly was collected using questionnaires and disaggregated by age, sex, educational level, occupation, and marital status. The sample group includes a total of 165 elderly people aged 60 years and older who lived in Ban Suan Municipality. Statistics used for data analysis include frequency, percentage, standard deviation, and average. A t-Test was used to carry out hypothesis testing, while the one-way ANOVA was employed to compare the difference between over three groups of independent variables. When a statistically significant difference was found at .05, the researcher conducted a paired difference test using Least Significant Difference Test (LSD).

The findings show that 1) overall, the quality of life of the elderly in Ban Suan Municipality, Chonburi Province is very good with social relations ranked highest as very good, followed by emotional wellbeing, the environment, and physical health ranked similarly as very good 2) when the quality of life among the elderly in Ban Suan Municipality, Chonburi Province was compared, those of different ages, sexes, occupations, educational levels, and marital status held different opinions on the quality of life of the elderly in Ban Suan Municipality, Chonburi Province that were statistically significant at 0.05.

การวิจัยเรื่อง คุณภาพชีวิตของผู้สูงอายุในเขตเทศบาลเมืองบ้านสวน จังหวัดชลบุรี มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาระดับคุณภาพชีวิตของผู้สูงอายุในเขตเทศบาลเมืองบ้านสวน จังหวัดชลบุรี และเปรียบเทียบคุณภาพชีวิตของผู้สูงอายุในเขตเทศบาลเมืองบ้านสวน จังหวัดชลบุรี จำแนกตาม เพศ อาชีพ อายุ ระดับการศึกษา และสถานภาพการสมรส กลุ่มตัวอย่างคือ ผู้สูงอายุในเขตเทศบาลเมืองบ้านสวนที่มีอายุ 60 ปีขึ้นไป จำนวน 165 คน ที่อาศัยอยู่ในเขตเทศบาลเมืองบ้านสวน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลคือ แบบสอบถาม และสถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ได้แก่ ความถี่ ร้อยละ ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนการทดสอบสมมติฐานใช้สถิติ t-Test และใช้สถิติ One – way ANOVA สำหรับเปรียบเทียบความแตกต่างระหว่างตัวแปรอิสระที่มีตั้งแต่ 3 กลุ่มขึ้นไป เมื่อพบว่ามีความแตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 ผู้วิจัยทดสอบหาความแตกต่างรายคู่ โดยใช้วิธีของ Least Significant Difference Test (LSD)

ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1.คุณภาพชีวิตของผู้สูงอายุในเขตเทศบาลเมืองบ้านสวน จังหวัดชลบุรี พบว่า โดยภาพรวมระดับคุณภาพชีวิตของผู้สูงอายุในเขตเทศบาลเมืองบ้านสวน จังหวัดชลบุรี อยู่ในระดับดีมาก เมื่อพิจารณาเป็นรายด้านพบว่า ระดับคุณภาพชีวิตของผู้สูงอายุในเขตเทศบาลเมืองบ้านสวน จังหวัดชลบุรี ด้านความสัมพันธ์ทางสังคม เป็นอันดับ 1 อยู่ในระดับดีมาก รองลงมาคือ ด้านจิตใจ อยู่ในระดับดีมาก ด้านสิ่งแวดล้อม อยู่ในระดับดีมาก และลำดับสุดท้ายคือ ด้านร่างกาย อยู่ในระดับดีมาก 2.เมื่อเปรียบเทียบคุณภาพชีวิตของผู้สูงอายุในเขตเทศบาลเมืองบ้านสวน จังหวัดชลบุรี พบว่า ผู้สูงอายุที่มีเพศ อาชีพ อายุ ระดับการศึกษา และสถานภาพการสมรสต่างกัน มีความคิดเห็นต่อระดับคุณภาพชีวิตของผู้สูงอายุในเขตเทศบาลเมืองบ้านสวน จังหวัดชลบุรี แตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05
