THE APPLICATION OF LEAN THINKING TO IMPROVE PURCHASING PROCESS A CASE STUDY OF AN ELECTRONICS PARTS COMPANY

Abstract

The objective of this research is to study the operating procedures of the purchasing department and analyze the ways to reduce the steps of the purchasing process a case study of an electronic parts company. The researcher applied Value Stream Mapping technique to analyze current operating procedures in order to find procedures that need to be improved. The researcher has applied the 5W1H concept to analyze the causes of complaint problems. The ABC classification technique was applied to classify the group of products. Then, ECRS principles was used to reduce unnecessary processes of purchasing process. The result of this research revealed that the purchasing process can reduce from 11 steps to 8 steps and the overall operational time of the procedure reduce from 114 hours to 30.5 hours or 65.23 percent. It can be concluded that after the improvement, the purchasing process can be improved to meet the user needed and greatly reduce the complaints.

การวิจัยนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาขั้นตอนในการดำเนินงานของหน่วยงานจัดซื้อและวิเคราะห์หาแนวทางลดขั้นตอนการดำเนินงานของกระบวนการจัดซื้อ ของบริษัทกรณีศึกษาผู้ผลิตชิ้นส่วนอิเลคทรอนิกส์ โดยผู้วิจัยใช้หลักแผนผังสายธารแห่งคุณค่า (Value stream mapping) เพื่อวิเคราะห์ขั้นตอนในปัจจุบันเพื่อหาขั้นตอนการทำงานที่จะต้องทำการปรับปรุง นำหลักการแนวคิดการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ด้วย 5W1H เพื่อหาสาเหตุหลักของปัญหาที่ถูกร้องเรียน ใช้วิธีการวิเคราะห์ แบบเอบีซี (ABC Analysis) เพื่อจัดกลุ่มสินค้า เพื่อให้ง่ายต่อการดำเนินการปรับปรุง และใช้หลักการ ECRS เพื่อลดขั้นตอนที่ไม่จำเป็นต่อกระบวนการ ผลจากการวิจัย พบว่า สามารถลดขั้นตอนการดำเนินงานจาก 11 ขั้นตอน เหลือ 8 ขั้นตอนการดำเนินงาน และยังสามารถลดระยะเวลาในการดำเนินงานโดยรวมของขั้นตอน ดีขึ้นจาก 114 ชั่วโมง ลดเหลือเพียง 30.5 ชั่วโมง หรือลดลงร้อยละ 65.23 สรุปได้ว่า หลังทำการปรับปรุงทำให้ขั้นตอนการดำเนินงานของกระบวนการการจัดซื้อ สามารถตอบสนองผู้ใช้งานได้ดีขึ้น เป็นผลให้การร้องเรียนจากหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องลดลงเป็นอย่างมาก
